WHAT IS PDR

Auto Paintless Dent Removal

A:  Paintless Dent Repair or (PDR) for short is a series of techniques used to remove minor dents, dings and especially hail damage from the body of your vehicle.

We do not use dry ice or “pop the dents out.”

More specifically PDR uses metal rods and picks to “push” or massage the dents out from the inside of the damaged panel.  The PDR process starts with the Dent Technician gaining access to the underside (backside) of the vehicle’s skin.  The access is gained starting with the Removal & Installation (R&I) process of the repair.  R&I is unscrewing and unfastening the hardware holding up your vehicles trim or upholstery (i.e. headliners and door panels).  Doors, hoods and deck lids (trunks) can be removed from the vehicle and placed on a stand for easier technician maneuverability.

In return, by gaining better access to the underside of the panel the technicians repairs are of a higher quality.

In some cases R&I is not required. A Dent Technician may gain access by rolling down a window and inserting a window wedge and a stainless steel window guard to safely gain access to the underside of the panel.

A thorough PDR repair does not strictly consist of repairing the outside of the damaged panel, but also protecting the underside.  We use rubber, nylon and plastic tipped tools and also when necessary we tape the tools to avoid scratching the underside of a panel.

When a Dent Technician must put metal on metal the Lord of the Dings LLC Repair Technicians will spray corrosion protection to the back of the panel to make sure that your vehicle is properly protected after your repairs had been completed.
